GBC Farms

Location: Mount Vernon, OH

GBC Farms’ mission is to raise market rabbits in a low-stress, humane environment, providing a natural diet of hay, hay pellets, and fresh vegetables. We are committed to raising our animals without the use of antibiotics or growth hormones.

At GBC Farms, mornings start with the soft rustle of hay and the steady, comforting rhythm of chores done the same careful way every day. What began back in 2000 as a family necessity—gardens tended, jars filled, recipes and know-how handed down like heirlooms—has grown into a small farm built on patience and purpose. When Brooke discovered 4-H in the fall of 2014, village limits narrowed the list of animal projects, but they also opened an unexpected door: meat rabbits. That first step turned into years of learning, showing, and listening closely to what the animals need, until raising New Zealand Whites became less of a project and more of a calling shared with Anna. Our rabbits are raised in a low-stress, humane environment and fed a natural diet of hay, hay pellets, and fresh vegetables—never antibiotics, never growth hormones, just steady care and clean, simple feed. We offer whole fryer rabbits, typically 5–8 pounds, raised with the kind of attention you can taste in the final meal. In Anna’s kitchen, the season continues—fruit simmering down into jams and jellies that capture summer in a spoonful, made from homegrown and carefully chosen locally sourced ingredients. If you’ve been looking for food with a story you can feel, there’s a place for you at our table.
